Diploma (1994) and PhD (1998) in Meteorology from the Freie Universität Berlin. Postdoc at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, UK. Since 2002 research assistant at the Institute of Meteorology of the Freie Universität Berlin. Strong background in climate data analysis and climate modelling. 14 publications in peer-reviewed journals and contributions to 3 books. Current research topics: Cyclones, heavy precipitation and windstorms in Europe and in the Mediterranean region under present day and climate change conditions.
