Su libro más reciente, Desert Notebooks: A Road Map for the End of Time (Counterpoint, 2020), reflexiona desde una perspectiva personal, en torno a la destrucción medioambiental en un contexto geopolítico cada vez más inestable. En 2021 fue galardonado con el American Book Award. Anteriormente ha publicado The Way to the Spring: Life and Death and Palestine (Penguin Press, 2016), que recoge años de reporterismo desde Cisjordania y fue finalista del Palestine Book Award de 2017. Sus ensayos, artículos y textos han aparecido en The New York Times Magazine, London Review of Books, The Nation, The New Republic, The Guardian y Harper’s, entre otros. También es autor de dos novelas, Ether (City Light Publishers, 2011) y The Suitors (Counterpoint, 2006).
