Graphic Constellation

Young Women Authors of Avant-garde Comics

Mexico City / Centro Cultural de España en México

The Cultural Center of Spain in Mexico will present the exhibition Graphic Constellation: Young Avant-Garde Comic Authors from November 28, 2024, to April 2025. This traveling exhibition, originating at the CCCB, is a portable archive that celebrates the creative moment of a constellation of nine talented authors: Bàrbara Alca, Marta Cartu, Genie Espinosa, Ana Galvañ, Nadia Hafid, Conxita Herrero, María Medem, Miriampersand, and Roberta Vázquez. These creators stand out for experimenting with innovative styles and languages, breaking traditional comic norms with a critical and humorous perspective on the world.

The exhibition, part of an international project, brings together materials that explore new narrative and visual forms, establishing these authors as key figures in graphic avant-garde. Supported by various cultural institutions, this event offers a unique opportunity for the Mexican public to immerse themselves in the creative universe of contemporary comics.

The Festival, held at the SKC Beograd (Student's Cultural Center), is the largest comic book event in Serbia, and one of the most important in Southeast Europe. In 2023, it will be held from 28 September to 1 October and the exhibition, supported by the Spanish embassy in Serbia and the AECID, will be extended until 14 October.

Bàrbara Alca, Marta Cartu, Miriampersand and Jordi Costa will be in Belgrade to participate in the activities organised by the Festival.
