The 2010 Prize exhibition to be shown in the Rome Biennial on Public Space

The first Biennial on Public Space in Rome shows the exhibition on the 2010 European Prize for Urban Public Space. The exhibition was opened on 12 May in the former Aquarium building, headquarters of Architecture House, as one of the key events of the Biennial. The winners of the Biennial Prize are also exhibited in this venue.

The European Prize for Urban Public Space (www.publicspace.org/en) is a biennial competition, organised by the Centre of Contemporary Culture of Barcelona (CCCB) in collaboration with the Cité de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine (Paris), The Architecture Foundation (London), the Nederlands Architectuurinstituut (Rotterdam), the Architekturzentrum Wien (Vienna), the Museum of Finnish Architecture (Helsinki) and theDeutsches Architerturmuseum (Frankfurt).

The aim of the Prize is to recognise and foster the public character of urban spaces and their capacity for fostering social cohesion, understanding the state of public space as a clear indicator of the civic and collective health of our cities.
