Amazons

The Ancestral Future

«Amazons. The ancestral future » takes us into the immense natural and cultural richness of the territory, the cities and the indigenous communities of the Amazon to learn about the art, thought and enormous ecological impact of a region that is central to the future of the planet.

The exhibition offers a comprehensive view of Amazonian culture, highlighting indigenous voices that, through various disciplines such as art, science, and activism, propose new ways of relating to nature. The Amazon, with its immense diversity, spans nine countries and is home to more than thirty million people, including four hundred indigenous peoples who speak over three hundred languages. Its ecosystem, the largest in the world, is crucial for the planet’s climate stability.

"Amazons. The Ancestral Future" takes visitors on a sensory journey through the region’s cultural and natural wealth, addressing current challenges such as deforestation, climate change, and resource exploitation. Without falling into folkloric or catastrophic narratives, the exhibition highlights the deep knowledge that Amazonian peoples have of their environment and history. More than just an exhibition, it is a reflection on our relationship with nature and the urgent need to adopt more sustainable ways of living.
