The CCCB

Technosphere

The tech revolution and scientific progress have brought about two of the most important paradigm shifts of recent decades and have had profound cultural impacts.

Technology has changed the way we create and access knowledge. Social media have changed our concept of audiences and blurred the lines between programmers and public. New technologies which require more open and horizontal spaces have the potential to strengthen democracy, although they also have their limits and political and social dilemmas.

In today’s world, the definition of what it means to be human has become blurred. Robotics, artificial intelligence, genetic modification, neuroscience, extended lifespan: the CCCB must offer tools for understanding these profound changes that are already underway and discussing the potential and the risks, the opportunities, ethical dilemmas and new divisions that may arise from a truly humanistic perspective.
