Xcèntric. June 2008. Thinking art from cinema

We close the 7th season of Xcentric with an outstanding programme for the month of June: Film addresses Art: the paths of the creative processes.

This is a cycle under the heading of "Rewritings" that probes the intimacy of creative processes and explores the paths between film and art and between art and film, with five sessions for all lovers of the cinema, photography and painting with works about filmmakers, photographers and painters and their filmed self-portraits.

The cycle includes films by Pier Paolo Pasolini, Jean-Luc Godard and Anne-Marie Miéville, Michael Snow, Jonas Mekas, Stan Brakhage, Jean Renoir, Jacques Rozier, Harun Farocki, Chantal Akerman, Jean-Michel Bouhours and Robert Frank, along with filmed documents about Henri Matisse, Joan Miró, Jackson Pollock and Antoni Tàpies, and others by the artists René Magritte, Man Ray, Jean Cocteau, Andy Warhol and André Delvaux.

NEXT SEASON

With Thinking art from cinema we finish our 7th season. Xcèntric will return in November 2008 and till June 2009 we will offer a unique programme for the sections «Invisible cinema» (experimental), «Rewritings» (art and essay) and «Variations of the real» (documentary), and also monographic sessions with other authors and themes.

During the 8th season, they are going to take place the Xperimenta 2nd edition, the experimental cinema bienal, which will gather together the main representatives' authors in conferences, screenings and special presentations.
