The American Dream Cinema
This summer, the CCCB’s offers four outdoor screenings in the framework of the exhibition «Suburbia. Building the American Dream». A cycle curated by Philipp Engel, curator of the exhibition, and Jordi Costa, head of exhibitions at CCCB.
The idyllic landscape of single-family homes surrounded by lawns, with their flowers and white fences, is never innocent; always hides something more. In cinema, we've seen how the friendly Suburbia of the ‘50s mutated into darker versions of the American Dream, giving rise to complex and fascinating interpretations.
