The exhibition takes as its departure point an overview of the history of an artistic trend that to a large extent marked the concept of avant-garde and has conditioned the interpretation of art throughout the 20th century and up until the present day. Following the exhibition layout, the catalogue explores the various issues to be addressed and often broached by surrealism. This is an across-the-board look at the movement, reiterating and highlighting the variety of means of expression employed by the surrealists.
