Xavier Rodó

Xavier Rodó is an ICREA research professor and head of the Climate and Health program at the Barcelona Global Health Institute (ISGlobal), where he directs the climate and health research programme. From 2008 to 2013 he was founding director of the Catalan Institute for Climate Sciences (IC3), a pioneering institution in linking the study of the biosphere to climate patterns. He has also carried out research at other world-renowned institutions, including Princeton University and the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS). He has made particularly important contributions to the study of the impact of climate variability on the evolution and spread of infectious diseases. He has also developed simulations of extreme ecosystems and studied the links between extreme climates and mortality rates.
