Susan George

Her current work concerns various aspects of neo-liberal globalization and ideology. She is president of the Board of the Transnational Institute in Amsterdam and honorary president of ATTAC-France (Association for the Taxation of Financial Transactions for the Aid of Citizens), where she also served as vice-president between 1999 and 2006. From 1990-95 she served on the Board of Greenpeace International as well as that of Greenpeace France. She has acted as a consultant to various United Nations specialized agencies and is a frequent public speaker.

She is the author of fourteen widely translated books, her most recent publications including Hijacking America: How the Religious and Secular Right Changed What Americans Think (2008) and We, the Peoples of Europe (2008). Other books are Another World is Possible, If... (2004) and The Lugano Report: On Preserving Capitalism in the 21st Century (1999). Her well-known first book, How the Other Half Dies: Real Reasons for World Hunger (1976), is now available on her TNI homepage, as well as many of her articles and lectures.
