Shimon Naveh is Director of the Operational Theory Research Institute, National Defence College, Israel. Before embarking on an academic career, he served for 26 years in the Israeli army. He is an expert in military theory and has published In Pursuit of Military Excellence: The Evolution of Operational Theory (Frank Cass, Portland 1997).
