Saleem Badat

Professor in the Department of History at the University of the Free State in South Africa. He is recognized for his research on the politics of transition from an apartheid social system to a democratic society. In his studies he addresses issues of equality, remedies and social justice, with a particular focus on transformations within the education sector. His publications include: Black Student Politics: Higher Education and Apartheid (Routledge, 2002), Black Man, You are on Your Own (Real African Publishers, 2009) and The Forgotten People: Political Banishment under Apartheid (Jacana Media, 2012).
