Narrator and poet.

He became one of the major Latin American writers of our times. His last books are published by Anagrama: Llamadas telefónicas (short stories) and the novels Estrella distante, Amulet, Monsieur Pain, By Night in Chile and Los detectives salvajes. His works have been translated into German, Italian, English, French, Dutch, Portuguese, Swedish, Greek, Norwegian and Danish.
