Robert Forster (The Go-Betweens)

Robert Forster is perhaps the world’s most brilliant yet least known pop music composer. Born in Brisbane (Australia) in 1957, together with kindred spirit Grant McLennan this elegant songsmith formed The Go-Betweens, one of the most marvellous but obscure bands of the eighties and nineties. In an ideal world, Forster and The Go-Betweens would receive the same treatment as R.E.M. Apart from dozens of unforgettable albums and songs, solo or with The Go-Betweens, since 2005 Forster has also worked in music criticism, receiving the 2006 Pascall Prize.
