Quim Garreta

Born in Igualada (Barcelona) in 1979, Quim Garreta forms part of the so-called “Generation X”. Like Plato, he believes that “music is to the soul what gymnastics is to the body”. He considers himself a bad reader, as he always has three or four books on the go at the same time, but at a slow and leisurely pace, chewing and assimilating each word, each phrase, each concept... and he doesn’t always finish them. He prefers to write songs (four albums recorded with his last band, Faèrica) and compose soundtracks for video games. An addict as a teenager to games in green pixels, to old computers and to the “Tria la teva aventura” books, these opened up the doors for him to an infinite university linked to role games, interactive literature, fantasy, terror, science fiction, etc. Paths that today, after 10 years as a programmer, he is exploring as co-founder of the startup Cubus Games, devoted to creating immersive interactive storytelling in gamebook app format.
