Patrick Zachmann

Photographer

Born in 1955 in Choisy-le-Roi. He lives and works in Paris.

Patrick Zachmann devotes himself to long-term reportages highlighting the complexity of communities whose identity and culture he explores.

He spent eight years studying the Chinese diaspora and the results have been exhibited in ten countries in Asia and Europe.

In 1996-98 he made the short feature La Mémoire de mon père (My father’s Memory). Then his first full length film on the way memory traces disappear.

He is currently working on an exploration of the night world in various big cities around the world.

Patrick Zachmann became a Member of Magnum Photos in 1990.
