Pablo Serra-Palao

Expert researcher in environmental law and animal law

Pablo Serra-Palao holds a degree and Master’s degrees in Diplomacy and International Relations and in Biolaw. He is currently a predoctoral researcher at the University of Murcia. His research interests encompass environmental law and animal law, and he has presented his work at conferences and published scientific articles in both areas. His work touches on issues such as the legal recognition of the crime of ecocide or companion animals’ access to health care. His doctoral thesis focuses on the analysis of Earth System Law as an emerging legal paradigm, better equipped for the demands of the Anthropocene. He has belonged to the team working on the Research Project «Environmental Biolaw and the protection of vulnerability: Toward a new legal framework», and he is currently a member of the European Project «Pro-Human Biolaw: Biolaw as global tool for Human Rights Protection». He is also a member of the Research Group «Environmental Bio-Law: Law, Ethics and Science» at the University of Murcia and academic networks such as the Global Network for Human Rights and the Environment.
