Owen Hughes

Owen Hughes trained as an architect at the University of Westminster and Oxford Brookes University, setting up PEARCE+ in 2018.

Having worked for seven years with the award-winning Hugh Broughton Architects, Owen has been involved in a wide range of projects in education, cultural and remote environment architecture on Mars and in the Arctic regions. Owen is a design tutor at Oxford Brookes University focusing on offworld architecture, generational issues, hyper-technology, future cities and future living.

His current research focuses on improving social cohesion and reducing loneliness through technology and interactive architecture. Owen is interested in new forms of craft-making and explores the possibilities of transferring design and construction approaches from furniture to architectural settings.
