Oscar Van Gelderen

Oscar van Gelderen (Purmerend, Netherlands,1965) is publisher at Lebowski Publishers. In the 1990s, Van Gelderen founded his own publishing house, Vassallucci, which he sold to the PCM group in 2001. In 2007 he founded Lebowski, where he specializes in international fiction (with authors such as Dave Eggers, David Sedaris), current affairs (Glenn Greenwald, Nick Davies), classics (John Williams, Erich Kästner, Hunter Thompson, Charles Bukowski) and Dutch fiction (Arnon Grunberg). Lebowski is well known for its unorthodox marketing campaigns, its strong presence in the social media, and its pioneering ways of selling international rights.
