Núria Andorrà

A contemporary percussionist, she began her career in the world of improvisation with interdisciplinary interests and a constant quest for her own language. She has worked with artists and musical groups including Carles Santos, Héctor Parra, and BCN216, among others. She is artistic director of the MontMusic Festival and also of the cultural programming of the Can Balmes Cultural Centre. She is presently teaching Improvisation at the Catalonia College of Music (ESMUC) and giving workshops around Europe. Moreover, she has worked as a teacher of classical and contemporary percussion in the Tarragona Conservatory and also at the Liceu Conservatory. Considered to be one of the best improvisors in the European scene, she was awarded the 2021 Alícia Award of the Catalan Academy of Music.
