Neus Ballús

Filmmaker and screenwriter

Neus Ballús is a filmmaker and screenwriter. Her first feature film, La plaga (2013), premiered internationally at the 63rd Berlinale (Forum) and was nominated for the European Film Awards, the Goya Awards and the European Parliament LUX Awards. The film won four Gaudí Awards, as well as more than 20 international awards. Her second feature film, El viaje de Marta (2019), also premiered at the Berlinale (Panorama) and was screened in cinemas in France and Spain. She is currently wrapping up the hybrid comedy Seis días corrientes. She holds a degree in Audiovisual Communication and a Master’s degree in Creative Documentary from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, and she has also made short films such as L’avi de la càmera (2005) and Immersió (2009).
