Narges Bajoghli

Award-winning anthropologist, writer, and professor. She is an assistant Professor at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies, working at the intersections of media, power, and resistance in Iran and the United States. She is the author of the award-winning book Iran Reframed: Anxieties of Power in the Islamic Republic (Stanford University Press 2019) and director of the documentary film The Skin That Burns. She is as well a community organizer, co-founder of two international non-profit organizations, and creator of educational programs for middle school, high school, and college students rooted in social justice pedagogy and organizing. As a producer and cultural curator, she has worked with arts and educational collectives in Iran and Latin America and has organized cultural programming and exchanges in the United States, Iran, Cuba, and throughout the Americas for two decades.
