Photojournalist
A photojournalist who combines traditional photography of conflicts with a deeply personal standpoint, he was born in Lima (Peru) and, for more than ten years, has been documenting the humanitarian impact of war in the Middle East, recording both the front line of everyday suffering and the “fleeting moments at the periphery of the most dramatic events”. He has been working for seven years with the New York-based publication Newsday and also publishes in other media outlets like The New York Times, Newsweek, and TIME. His work has received World Press Photo, Pictures of the Year, and Overseas Press Club awards and his photographs have been exhibited around the world. Since 2004, he has been a full member of the prestigious Magnum Photos agency.
