Miquel Porta Serra

Miquel Porta is a physician and epidemiologist, Professor of Preventive Medicine and Public Heath at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona-Institut Hospital del Mar d’Investigacions Mèdiques (IMIM), Adjunct Professor of Epidemiology at the University of North Carolina, and co-author of the book Nuestra contaminación interna. Concentraciones de CTP en la población española (Madrid, Los Libros de la Catarata, 2009). He recently wrote the epilogue to Isabelle Saporta’s book Comer puede matar (Barcelona, Mondadori, 2013). He is also editor of A Dictionary of Epidemiology (New York, Oxford University Press, 2008). He has been president of the Sociedad Española de Epidemiología, the European Epidemiology Federation (EEF-International Epidemiological Association) and Científicos por el Medio Ambiente. His most recent non-scientific article (“Las quiero a morir”) is about Spotify and the possible human benefits of mass access to music (Claves de Razón Práctica journal, 2013).
