Maria Lipman

Director of the Society and Regions Program of the Carnegie Moscow Center, she is editor of the Center’s Pro et Contra journal and has also been editor of the Russian weeklies Ezhenedel’ny zhurnal and Itogi. She has been an op-ed columnist in the Washington Post and has published articles and chapters on Putin and press freedom, including Constrained or Irrelevant: The Media in Putin’s Russia (Current History, 2005).
