Margarita Jover
Professor of Architecture and co-director of the double master’s programme in “Landscape Architecture and Engineering” at Tulane University, New Orleans, Margarita Jover is a founding member of the aldayjover Architecture and Landscape studio which has offices in Barcelona and New Orleans. With an approach based on robust research, this multidisciplinary practice stands out for innovation and leadership in a new area of work focusing on the relationship between cities and rivers. The aldayjover studio has recently designed notable public spaces in Madrid (Metropolitan Forest), Barcelona (La Sagrera/La Diagonal Verda Park), Zaragoza (Metropolitan Water Park), Pamplona (Aranzadi Park), and Ibiza (Vara de Rei), as well as such buildings as a cultural centre, theatre, sports pavilion, infrastructure, and social housing. Among other international awards the studio has received the European Prize for Urban Public Space. Margarita Jover is coauthor of the books Ecologies of Prosperity for the Living City (ORO Editors, 2018), The Water Park (ACTAR, 2008), and Cities & Rivers (Actar, 2023). She has served as a jury member for prestigious awards including the FAD Prize for Architecture and the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture / Mies van der Rohe Awards (2015), and in other international competitions, among them that for the Plaça de les Glòries in Barcelona and South Sea Pearl Eco-Island, Hainan, China.
