Maialen Marín-Lacarta

Mailen Marín is a translator of Chinese literature and researcher at the Open University of Catalonia. She has a PhD from the Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales in Paris, after which she worked for six years as a lecturer and researcher at the Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) where she taught Chinese Literature, Translation, and Global Circulation of Literature, as well as leading two projects on ethnography and digital translation, which were recognised with an award from the Vice-Chancellor of HKBU for their research excellence. She has translated works by such authors as Mo Yan, Yan Lianke, Shen Congwen, Liu Na’Oui, and Mu Shiying, into Spanish and Basque and was awarded the Jokin Zaitegi prize for her translation of an anthology of short stories by Mo Yan.
