Laurence Rassel

Director of the Antoni Tàpies Foundation in Barcelona, during her professional career, Laurence Rassel has developed a line of investigative work centred around feminist artistic thought and practices as well as a critical effort on intellectual property in the area of the new technologies. This line of work can be seen reflected in the artistic programmes of Constant, the cultural organisation that Rassel directed from 1998 to 2008, when she took on the direction of the exhibitions and activities of the Antoni Tàpies Foundation in Barcelona. Between 2001 and 2006, Rassel was also Project Coordinator of ADA, a network of Belgian training centres for women that promotes knowledge of the new technologies as an integration tool. As curator, conference speaker and cultural director, she has contributed to various festivals, museums and international cultural centres, among which mention should be given to UNIA Seville (the International University of Andalusia “artandthinking”), Arteleku Centre in Donostia-San Sebastian, the Museum van Hedendaagse Kunst Antwerpen (MuHKA) in Antwerp and the Département de Nouveaux Médias at the Centre Pompidou in Paris.
