Laia Ribas Cabezas

Laia Ribas is a distinguished researcher at the Institute of Marine Sciences of the Spanish Scientific Research Council. She studied at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, where she earned her doctorate in Biological Sciences in 2006 and later worked at Imperial College London. She heads the research team that studies interactions between the reproductive system and immune system of fish to identify molecular markers that can improve aquaculture production. She has participated in the Nüwa project, a city designed for a million inhabitants on Mars, developing its life support system and social aspects.
