Josep Maria Antó Boqué

Professor of Medicine at the Pompeu Fabra University and director of the Centre for Environmental Epidemiology Research

A graduate in Medicine, he has been a member since 1988 of the Municipal institute for Medical Research where he has been coordinator of the Respiratory and Environmental Health Unit. In 1994 he was Principal Visiting Fellow at the National Heart and Lung Institute (London). He is presently Director of the Centre for Environmental Epidemiology Research and also Professor of Medicine at the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF). He has been associate editor and member of the editorial boards of several scientific publications, including American Journal of Epidemiology, European Journal of Public Health and European Respiratory Journal. He has received several awards in recognition of his work, among them the Narcís Monturiol Medal (1995) and the Generalitat (Government) of Catalonia Josep Trueta Medal for Merit in the field of Health Care (2009).
