Jorge Domingo

His interest in representation led him to study Media Studies at Carlos III University, Madrid, and Film Studies and Filmmaking at the National School of Film Art (ENAC-UNAM), Mexico City. In 2016 he graduated from the Master's Degree in Film Criticism by the ECAM, Madrid, and the magazine Caimán Cuadernos de Cine, and in 2018 he finished the Master's Degree in Theory and Practice of Creative Documentary Filmmaking at Universidad Autónoma of Barcelona. He has worked as researcher-copywriter at Cineteca Nacional de México and he has been part of the press-distribution team at the independent film distribution company Avalon. Since 2013 he writes and publishes texts on film criticism and analysis in which he explores topics like dystopia in Greek cinema of the crisis, fiction as a process in Miguel Gomes's films, and variation/repetition in Hong Sang-Soo's films. He is interested in the relations between cinema, imagination and utopia, as well as in the blurry boundaries between documentary, fiction and theatre. Nowadays he collaborates with Xcèntric, CCCB's film programme and archive, assuming curating tasks for its archive of experimental and documentary cinema, at which he regularly carries out commented visits.
