Jordi Doce

Poet, translator and editor

With a PhD in literature from the University of Sheffield, Jordi Doce has an extensive poetic work that has been translated into English, French, Arabic and Italian, among others. His most recent collections of poems include Esta Mano (Centro Editores, 2020), Maestro de distancias (Abada, 2022) or No estábamos allí (Pre-Textos, 2016); the latter two were chosen best book of the year by El Cultural magazine. As for prose he has published Hormigas blancas (Bartleby Editores, 2005), Perros en la playa (La oficina, 2011) and Todo esto será tuyo (Pre-Textos, 2021), as well as volumes of articles and essays. Doce has translated Anne Carson's books Men in the Off Hours (Alfred A. Knopf, 2000), Auobiography of Red (Cape poetry, 1999) and Float (Random House International, 2016). He has also translated the work of W.H. Auden, Sylvia Plath and other important British and American poets. He currently coordinates the poetry collection of the Galaxia Gutenberg publishing house.
