Joana Gomila

Singer, songwriter and performer

Joana Gomila is a History of Art graduate and studied Jazz singing at the Conservatory of the Liceu and at Souza Lima in Brazil, and has brought out two albums: Paradís (Bubota, 2020), jointly with Laia Vallès, and Folk Souvenir (Bubota, 2016), in which she explores the echoes and resonances of the popular music of Mallorca. Folk Souvenir won the Ciutat de Palma Bonet de Sant Pere Prize (2018) and the Rosselló-Pòrcel Prize (2017) awarded by Obra Cultural Balear.

In the field of performing arts she has worked with such varied artistes and companies as Lali Ayguadé, Andrés Lima and Aitana Sánchez-Gijón, as well as playing the double bass to accompany musicians such as Joan Miquel Oliver and Miquel Serra.
