Jaume Balmes

Jaume Balmes is a typesetter and graphic artist – professions which are currently wrongly known as “layout designer” and “graphic designer” – and the founder of Barcelona Edicions Digitals, which focuses on the composition of e-books and the development of tactile applications, and El Taller Editorial, where he carries out different projects and services focusing on both the book and websites, considering that both “formats” require careful and professional processes. A teacher of digital publishing design at the IDEP design school in Barcelona, he studied graphic design, focusing on managing editorial art specialising in books at the BAU school in Barcelona. He has published articles in the magazine Trama&Texturas, a reference point for the publishing sector, on optimised publishing processes and the quality controls necessary for digital publishing.
