Jamila Afghani heads Noor Educational and Capacity Development Organization (NECDO) a local NGO serving women and children. NECDO is dedicated to Capacity building and leading educational activities witin the community, including establishing libraries. Since 2000 Ms. Afghani has been working as an activist in the area of gender and human rights from an Islamic perspective and a consultant with national and international organizations aiding in management, strategic planning. She raises awareness of issues sorrounding women's rights within an Islamic perspective through media, roundtables, group discussions, workshops and seminars.
