(Bombay, 1951), Jeremiah Smith, Jr. Lecturer in Law at Harvard Law School, Director of Research at the Francois-Xavier Bagnoud Center for Health and Human Rights at Harvard University, and lecturer on Public Policy at Harvard Kennedy School, has published extensively on issues of migration, refugee protection, women’s and children’s rights and citizenship. Notable among her more recent books are two that are concerned with migration and childhood, Children Without a State (MIT Press, 2011), of which she is the editor, and the forthcoming study Moving Children: Child Migration in the 21st Century. She is co-author of Seeking Asylum Alone: Unaccompanied and Separated Children and Refugee Protection (2006), Women's Movement: Women under Immigration, Nationality and Refugee Law (1994) and Worlds Apart: Women (1990). Besides her academic work, Jacqueline Bhabha is co-founder of the Alba Collective, an international NGO that works to improve economic security and rights of women and girls in rural areas of developing countries.
