Ivor Stodolsky

He is an internationally active curator, writer and theorist and the cofounder and co-director of Perpetuum Mobile (PM). In 2014, he established, together with Marita Muukkonen, Artist at Risk (AR), a global network of artistic institutions, non-profits, municipalities, state institutions and international organizations to assist, relocate and fund artists who are at risk of persecution or oppression, or are fleeing war or terror. For the last ten years, AR has welcomed more than 850 artists and professionals from the domain of culture at risk and, in 2016, was honoured with the European Citizen’s Prize of the European Parliament. Previously, he developed doctoral research at Helsinki University centred on the Russian cultural underground of the 80s and 90s. He also curated exhibitions and events at international biennials, including the Arts Assembly at Murcia Manifesta (2009) or the Perpetual Pavilion at Venice Biennale (2009).
