Director of the Calabrian newspaper La Provincia Cosentina and the first immigrant woman to be the director of a newspaper in Italy, she fled from her homeland of Cameroon at the age of sixteen for sentimental reasons and settled first in France and then in Italy. With a degree in Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures from the University of Calabria, she obtained a PhD in Multimedia Didactic Technologies and Communication Systems after which she taught in this university. She has worked as a journalist, first in local television stations and subsequently in the newspaper of which she is currently director. She has published the book Traiettori di sguardi. E se gli altri foste voi? (Rubbettino, 2001), which is based on her own experiences.
