Francisco J. Doblas Reyes

He started working on climate variability at the Complutense University of Madrid in 1992, where he did his PhD. As a postdoc he worked at Météofrance, at the Instituto Nacional de Técnica Aeroespacial in Madrid, and for ten years at the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts in the UK. From 2010 to 2015 he was team leader at the Institut Català de Ciències del Clima, and now leads the Earth Sciences Department at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center. This department has physical engineers, mathematicians and social scientists working on supercomputing and data analysis to provide the best information and services on climate and air quality. He is the author of more than 200 papers, lead author of the fifth and sixth IPCC Assessment reports, member of several international scientific committees and supervisor of about 25 PhD students.
