An architect and professor of Architecture at London Metropolitan University where he is director of the Architecture Research Unit, he became internationally recognised as a result of his project for the Half Moon Theatre in London (1985) and other works in the city. He has subsequently worked in East Germany on projects of landscape design such as the Kunstlandschaft Cospuden (2001), and in South Korea, where he recently planned the Saemangeum Island City (2008).
