Etcétera
Founded in 1997 in Buenos Aires, Etcétera is a multidisciplinary collective comprised of visual artists, poets, and performers. Since 2007, it has been coordinated by co-founders Loreto Garín Guzmán (Chile) and Federico Zukerfeld (Argentina). In 2005, they founded the International Errorist movement, an international organization advocating error as a way of life. Alongside curating exhibitions and installations, they engage in street art, public interventions, actions, and performances that are inherently contextual, ephemeral, and situational. Historically, their work has been recognized for exposing human rights abuses and currently for advocating environmental justice, the rights of nature, environmentalism, and other species through actions and manifestos.
In addition to their public engagements, they have participated in numerous international exhibitions and biennials, including Biennal Sur (2023/2019), the Buenos Aires Performance Biennial (2016/2022), the Jakarta Biennale (2015), the São Paulo Biennial (2014), the Athens Biennale (2013), DOCUMENTA 13 (2012), the Istanbul Biennial (2009), the Taipei Biennial (2008), Collective Creativity at the Fridericianum Museum, Kassel (2005), and Ex-Argentina at the Ludwig Museum, Cologne (2004), among others. In 2013, they won the International Participatory Art Prize in Bologna, Italy, for their project C.R.I.S.I (Comuna de Investigación para la Imaginación Social Inclusiva). In 2015, they received the Prince Claus Award in the Netherlands, and in 2023, they were honored with the Konex Platino Award for Visual Arts in Argentina.
