Daura Mangara

Rapper and poet

His highly poetic musical compositions are based on personal experiences and especially those related with racial discrimination. His first disc, Poesia per bandits (2020) recalls his stay in prison and explores themes like nostalgia, love, and the experience of racism. He starred in Manel Serrat’s short documentary Negre de merda (2018), which relates his experiences of institutional racism and violence as the son of migrants residing in Banyoles. The film was awarded the Jury’s and Public’s Prize in the Students Category of the In-edit Festival.
