Clara Castro

Composer and music student

MSF organised a competition for students at music schools who were given the challenge of composing an “original soundtrack” for a work on refugees in Greece while also highlighting the role of music as an element that can enrich the viewing of images. The winner was Clara Castro, who has a classical training and is now studying piano for the Degree in Jazz and Contemporary Music Performance at the School of Creative Music in Madrid, as well as studying the pipe organ. She also has a degree in History of Art from the Complutense University of Madrid. She is presently working on her first disc of electronic/ambient and experimental music, and is composer and keyboardist of the group Anosmia, a band with jazz, electronic, rock, and free jazz influences. She has received a grant for recording, masterizing, and registering her compositions.
