Celia Santos Tapia

Celia Santos Tapia is a graduate in Biology from the Autonomous University of Madrid, where she also studied a master’s degree in Cell Biology and Genetics. In 2019 she gained her doctorate in Genetics from the University of Barcelona, carrying out her research at the Institut de Recerca Biomèdica de Barcelona. In 2020, she earned her master’s degree in Teacher Training from the University of La Rioja. She has taken part in various science outreach programmes, such as Research in Society at the Parc Científic de Barcelona, Crazy about Biomedicine and the Barcelona International Youth Science Challenge (Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera). She is also co-founder of Noies al Lab (Girls in the Lab), an association that aims to disseminate science and technology from a gender perspective. She currently works in the Scientific Culture Unit (UCC+y) at ISGlobal as a scientific disseminator in projects such as BiblioLab Ciència, Park(ing)Day Barcelona and European Researchers’ Night in Catalonia.
