Cèlia Cernadas

Journalist

She is journalist, writer and teacher. She has a degree in Information Sciences from the UAB and a Master's degree in International Relations from IBEI. For more than twenty years she has covered international news for Catalunya Ràdio and 3Cat and has been special envoy in many countries, from Mexico to Senegal, Kenya, Libya, Egypt, Iraq, Syria, Israel, Russia, Hungary, Poland, Greek Islands and refugee camps, Cuba and Guantanamo, Ukraine or the Norwegian Arctic. She was head of International during two stages and correspondent of Catalunya Ràdio in the USA —country to which she travels regularly— between 2015 and 2017, which coincided with the arrival of Donald Trump to the White House. In 2009 he lived in Bolivia as head of a journalistic development project managed by the International Centre for Journalists (ICJF) in Washington. In recent years she has focused on migration issues, among others. She is the author of the book Fora de focus. La vida a les perifèries del món (Ara Llibres). She regularly gives classes and lectures.
