Carolina Cappa

Audiovisual Archivist

Carolina Cappa is an audiovisual archivist specialized in film preservation and an independent professor of audiovisual media. For years, she has worked in various audiovisual archives, such as the Museum of Cinema "Pablo Ducrós Hicken" (Buenos Aires) and the Bolivian Cinematheque (La Paz), as well as in various film restoration projects. She directed the preservation project for Argentine silent cinema titled "Nitrato argentino, una historia del cine de los primeros tiempos," published in a freely accessible book and website. She has taught classes in the Image and Sound Design program at the University of Buenos Aires (where she graduated), among other educational spaces in Argentina, Latin America, and Spain. Currently, she is a professor at the Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola (Donostia), where she also develops the project "Segunda mano, Reutilización y desvíos en el cine iberoamericano," collaborating in the digitization of collections from the Cinemateca de Cuba, Filmoteca Española, and Arsenal Institute for Film and Video Art.
