Carles Prado

Carles Prado is a lecturer in Humanities at the Pompeu Fabra University and director of the East Asian Studies programme at the Open University of Catalonia. He has a PhD in Translation Theory and Intercultural Studies from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, and in Modern Chinese Literature from the University of California (LA). He has co-authored with David Martínez-Robles the work Narratives xineses: ficcions i altres formes de no-literatura. De la dinastia Tang al segle XXI (EDIUOC, 2008 – Chinese Narrative: Fictions and Other Forms of Non-Literature. From the Tang Dynasty to the Twenty-First Century). He has translated classical Chinese literature and also Paul Auster. His field of research is exploring the tensions between the global literary system and modern and contemporary literature written in Chinese.
