Boris Groys

PhD and Professor of Slavic and Russian Studies. Philosopher, essayist, art critic, media theorist and expert in post-modern Soviet literature and the Russian avant-gardes.

His vast production embraces more than one hundred articles, essays and books, including: The Total Art of Stalinism (1992) Unter Verdacht. Eine Phänomenologie der Medien (2000), Über das Neue. Versuch einer Kulturökonomie (1992) and History Becomes Form: Moscow Conceptualism (2010). In his writing, Groys brings together French post-structuralism and modern Russian philosophy. Credited with introducing Russian post-modern authors to readers in the USA, he is currently a researcher at the University of Karlsruhe and New York University (NYU).
