He has been working as a photojournalist for more than twenty years. His work at Associated Press has allowed him to witness many international events such as the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the return to power of the Taliban in Afghanistan, the Kashmir conflict, the Rohingya exodus between the borders of Myanmar and Bangladesh; Nelson Mandela's funeral, the Nepal earthquake, the Israel-Palestine conflict, the political transition in Egypt, the war in Libya, the post-election violence in Kenya, etc. His work has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Pulitzer Prize, the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award, the Overseas Press Club, the Picture of the Year and the World Press Photo.
